Success Stories Passionate. That one word sums up Wharton Communications' philosophy about marketing and public relations. As a result, our clients see results in the campaigns and writing we do for them on a regular basis. Sometimes, we work with the company's existing marketing department; at other times, we are the marketing department. Either way, we're pleased to help our clients reach their marketing goals through various means of marketing communications. The following are just a few of the many success stories we can share: White Sulphur Springs With a full-service marketing firm already under contract, the developers of this resort community located a few miles outside Mount Airy, North Carolina, needed attention-grabbing, benefit-focused writing for e-blasts, media releases and feature articles in regional magazines. Latitude Magazine accepted a query and feature article for the historically-charged article on the development's plans. Monthly e-blasts touting community news in greater Surry County - a nature lover's paradise, as well as home to wineries rivaling California's best - conveyed the "simple life" message in an enticing way. This work continues to be done in concert with the marketing firm, enlisting as many tools as possible for the common goal of promoting White Sulphur Springs. Ulanguzi Advertising The principals of Ulanguzi Advertising contracted Wharton Communications to write website content for their client, the developer of Bloomsbury Estates, a luxury condominium community. In addition, I wrote the copy for the sales sheets and brochure promoting the trendy community in an up-and-coming section of Raleigh's hot downtown. Eden Street Software These CD ROM based products provide virtual tours of popular tourist destinations. Each Armchair Tour includes extensive write-ups and photographs (1,200 photos minimum per CD) of every house, church, building, site and event for one particular historic city. CDs available for sale include Charleston, Savannah, St. Augustine, New Orleans and Lighthouses of the United States. For Eden Street Software, we:
Frank L. Blum Construction Company An employer-turned client, Frank L. Blum Construction Company needed a feature article about how they successfully built "Wow!" at High Point University, one of the Triad's finest private institutions. With a decade of experience writing for the construction industry (and a year's worth of the Blum culture in hand), I wrote this article that appeared in BizLife Magazine. Other articles written about Blum projects while I was employed there include one on the renovation of Wake Forest University's dining room, and this feature article on the Single Sisters House renovation at Salem Academy and College. Blum didn't have a marketing person or a marketing plan before I came on board, so putting all the pieces in place for a full-on marketing program was my task for the year I worked there. Family commitments forced me to resign, with much regret. Still, I enjoy working with them beyond the nine-to-five projects, so it's worked out well for all concerned.
